New Business Opportunities with Xuzhou for Italian Companies

The China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC) today met with a delegation from the Xuzhou Municipal People's Government headed by Deputy Mayor Mr Zhang Ke.

In order to strengthen the win-win cooperation between Xuzhou and Italy in different fields of business and promote commercial ties with Italian companies, the Xuzhou Government invited the Consulate General of Italy in Shanghai and the CICC to join this meeting.

As a result, the Consulate General of Italy in Shanghai and the CICC will organize a mission in Xuzhou which, together with the interested companies, will be able to further deepen the areas of common interest, leading to the finalization of a cooperation agreement that will create new opportunities for business in 2022.

Here are some of the key areas of focus: 

• Advanced manufacturing industries (construction machinery & intelligent robots, hydraulic transmission, medical equipment, integrated circuits and ICT, biomedicine and comprehensive health, new materials, energy saving and environmental protection, food and agricultural & sideline product processing)
• Modern services
• Modern agriculture

Among the distinguished guests present at the event were Mr Zhang Ke, Vice Mayor of Xuzhou, Mr Rocco Carlo Genchi, Deputy Consul General of Italy in Shanghai, Mr Paolo Bazzoni, CICC Chairman, and Mr Antonio Tagliati, CICC MEWG Vice Coordinator.

The meeting was the occasion for further strengthening the excellent commercial ties between Italy and the city of Xuzhou. 

According to official data, in 2020, the import-export between the two sides amounted to 750,000,000 RMB, an increase of 45.3% compared to the previous year.
