Dear Members and Friends of CICC,
On November 24th, the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC), with the patronage of the Embassy of Italy to the P.R.C., successfully held "Notte Italiana", to celebrate the Third Week of the Italian Cuisine in the World (November 19th- 25th).
The focus of the event, held at Park Hyatt Beijing, was to promote the innovation in the food-tech field, besides Italian culture and lifestyle. For this reason the logo chosen for the event was the "Roman broccolo" whose structure is a fractal, its global shape is repeated on different scales and the number of rosettes represents exactly the Fibonacci sequence.
CICC gladly hosted Michelin-starred Chef Cristina Bowerman, who designed the menu of the night. She is one of the few Italian women chef awarded a Michelin star (in 2010). Her menu was the result of provocative and unsettling food combinations, able to give a feeling of global and local, modernity and tradition at the same time. During the evening she received executive support by Accredited Italian Embassy School of Beijing’s Executive Chef Roberta Bari.
The event, featuring opening speeches by the Ambassador of Italy to the P.R.C., Ettore F. Sequi, and by CICC’s Chairman, Davide Cucino, saw the participation of 500 guests, among Chinese and Italian Institutions, business community and media representatives.
During the evening the audience enjoyed performances by the Italian duo Paolo Jannacci & Daniele Moretto. Paolo Jannacci paid homage to his father by interpreting the milestones of music "Vincenzina" and "Vengo anch’io no tu no".
A fascinating dance performance by "Starry Fantasy" then immersed guests in a magical atmosphere.
To celebrate the Sino-Italian bound Chinese origami master, 4 Guinness World Record holder and contemporary designer Liu Tong showcased his Lion of Saint Mark, symbol of Venice.
CICC would like to thank all the Sponsors that helped to make Notte Italiana an unforgettable night:
